QUETTA – The Balochistan government has announced schedule for winter vacations at the educational institutions in coldest areas, including Quetta.
Reports said the schools and colleges will remain closed from December 16 till Feb 28 in different districts in order to keep the students and staff safe from harsh weather.
It comes a couple of days after the University of Balochistan announced that all of its campuses except Kharan will remain closed for winter vacation from December 16, 2024, to February 28, 2025.
Deans and Heads of Departments will stay on duty to safeguard university assets, while non-teaching staff must remain on duty, the notification said.
The decision was made after getting approval of the vice chancellor.
Punjab Winter Holidays 2024
The Punjab government has announced the winter vacations starting from December 20, 2024 to January 10, 2025, giving students and staff a 20-day break.
The education department stressed that the schedule will apply to both public and private schools across the province.
Meanwhile, the department has advised parents to limit screen time of children and encourage them to take part other activities that foster learning.
